gearbox clunking
Just purchased 94 cbr 900RR with 17000 km from local dealer.Occassionaly slips in second gear with juddering, but lots of drive train slack clonking when going off and on throttle. More so when going off the throttle. Happens in every gear. Bike is really clean and looked after with no sign of wheelie abuse. Any ideas would be appreciated before going back to dealer and flinging bike through shop front window.
Chain and sprockets good. Tension is according to spec - 30 mm lower run mid position. Also thought that was the prob, but bike just serviced by dealer before delivery. Taking it in on Tuesday so they can sort it out under warranty. Always thought these were bullet proof thats why i purchased it. It was an australian model that came into South Africa as grey import. Really immac condition- no tool or spanner marks. Seems some people reckon these noises are normal for these bikes?
Thanks for the reply. Will keep you updated on progress once it's at the dealer.

Mine are having the same kind of noise too after I replaced the the clutch plate and cover. Its seems normal for cbr according to the mechanic. he said its due to the free play of the clutch compresion. Hence I'm not convinced.
