Have any of you guys successfully fitted a gear indicator? I've heard for some reason that they don't work properly on the CBR900.

I have one, but have been too lazy to put it on yet. The instructions don't' mention anything about a problem with the 900 and since it works by sensing the RPM versus speed, I wouldn't understand why there would be a problem. Of course, I assume that you are talking about the Acumen digital gear indicator. I've actually been holding out waiting (hoping) someone would release nice, digital gauges for the 900.

 

That's one of the gear indicators I'm talking about. I've heard that the acuman in particular gives false reads sometimes, then gets lost in the gears. For digital gauges, look at the Mychron gauges. Not cheap, but they finally came out with a PnP version for the CBR. I might upgrade over the winter.
