I was wondering if it is possible to hook up a gear indicator on a F2. I don't need it, but it comes with that option on my new gauge cluster. How does it exactly work? Thanks

 

All the ones I have seen have 2 sensors near your shifter. Movement of the shifter pedal triggers the indicator to go higher/lower. They don't actually tell you what gear you are in, just it keeps track of the movements of the pedal. If you shift from 2-3 and miss the shift, your still in 2nd, but the indicator will say 3rd.

There maybe other kits that use a more exact way of figuring this out, but all the fleabay kits I have seen use this.
