I have a 98 900rr, with a stage 7 jet kit from overseas.. I get about 150 miles per tank without using reserve..But I think it's more the way wat that I ride it, and not so much the bike's fault!

 

thanks guys i appreciate the input. i just filled up my tank and got 32 mpg for that tank. still sucks. and that was after normalaround townriding. not gunning it. not racing it. letting it just idle at lights. i rode by the honda dealer and they mentioned checking the air filter which i will do tomorrow and ill just wait for my 20,000 mile checkup which is right around the corner for the plugs.

i talked with the 2nd to last owner who had the bike 1100 miles ago and he said they did a full 16000 mile check up with new brakes and such and hasnt had bad gas mileage like i had. and since then it has also had its oil changed and chain lubed.

so ill just have to live with my everything perfect except gas mileage bike.

i have the factory pro airbox mod and jet kit with the +4 advancer and my main jets are 162's and im running 4clips down from the top. i average 33 miles to the gallon when im putting around and 26 when i romp on it....

 

Don't know how much this helps you, but I have a 98 w/29k on it, with just a slip-on. Since I started tracking it 3 years ago, I've averaged 43.8. Running on 91-93 oct. with Mixed riding.

 

ok now i am getting about 40 miles per gallon. i think it was my riding style. new bike to me and i didnt know the sweet points. now i couldnt imagine buying something else other than my 900. i love my 900rr. thanks for the input guys.

 

From 25 miles per gallon to 40... boy you must be ridin really really hard!
