I am currently unemployed so I've finally got some time to get my 93 back on the road. She has been sitting in the garage since 2011 with fuel in the tank. When I removed the petcock this morning to drain the tank, this is what I found: Where's the screen?
The interior of the tank has rusted and I had lots of sediment in the drained fuel. The bike was running fine the last time she ran, so I don't think this sediment has made it to the pump or carbs. I'm going to clean the tank, do I need to order a new petcock assy with screen or can I replace the screen on this one?
Thanks for any help, I'm gonna go say hi in the new member area.
In my personal opinion I would replace everything that has rust on it or make sure all the rust is removed.
A scotchbrite could do miracles. I think the white oxide can be scuffed away, but i think the brown oxide is a problem.
