Extending my mirrors
Hi as the title says i need to extend my vision as all i get is my shoulders, does anyone have a solutions they've tried and tested. I know there are the like spacers you can get for the mirror fixing into the windshield. But there's also the bars that extend out, what would be the best and best place to get them thanks all.

hi big bob,
nice to see you over here in the 900 section.welcome to the forum.
so here's another way to go, if your upper frame of body blocks the mirrors.
and I'm sure you've seen what I'm about to mention. I have a streetfightered 900 with mirrors attached to the handle bars and located further off and away from the handles..
also if you did go this route, they sell nice looking RR emblems to cover the holes where the old mirrors are removed..
also if your wondering what that would look like on a bike with all its fairings I wouldn't mind swapping those mirrors onto one of my other 900' s with all its plastics on and take a picture for you. just ask... I'd be glad to help..

mirrors
Thanks Jay, i know the type you mean but i want to try to keep the bike as standard as possible. The spaces that go under the current attatchment to the screen add about an inch to the mirrors. (and my missus says that can make all the difference). They're hardly noticeable, your suggestion is another option that i will look at. Thanks very much for your help and all the best for Xmas.

yes of course and thank you.. I just saw your post and didn't want it to go unanswered.. plus I use both types and being almost six foot, I have the same problem with my factory mirrors.. I constantly have to lean my body to the oppitsite side of the mirror i'm trying to look through.its def a pain.
anyway good luck, post up some pics of your bike and def post some up after you modify the mirrors..

oh and im sure other people might throw some thoughts into this thread..

Mirror Extensions - SW Motech - Honda CBR 900 RR Fireblade 1993-1997
Here's a link to some for an earlier model, seems a lot of dough for a piece of plastic. Bet there not much better than shadow's.

We get breadboards here made of nylon - cutting one up in easy - need about 5 sections per side.(breadboard is only about 1/4" thick).......I did mine in a bit of hurry so didn't smooth them out like the pro models, just put a pair of wristguards over them - works for me ! Sorry camera giving trouble so not so clear but you'll get the idea
You may want to cut the last one a bit thinner towards the front of the mirror so it throws the angle of sight further out - I did, and happy with the results. You'll obviously need bolts 1" longer than standard but they are easy to find at the local hardware or bolt shop.
