Anyone....
I am in the process of fixing up my first ever street bike, '95 900RR. Bought it wrecked and am working my way up to rideable. I am not a mechanical genius, but not a simpleton either. So with that in mind...heres the deal. The damn tach and damn speedo wont work. I have tried two different sets of gauges, the temp gauge works on both, but not the tach and speedo. I have done the tests in the manuals, problem is I am not positive that I did them correctly...because they all checked out fine. But neither gauge still works. What is the possiblity of having two bad sets of gauges?
Any help or any suggetions on what I can test please let me know. I am itching like crazy to get this bike going, but I wanna make sureI get it done right.
If talking is easier, call me or I can call you.

Thanks.

From my understanding they are electrical rather then mechanical. Check your fuse box and go from there.

The tach works with pulse and so does the speedo. Make sure the sprocket cover has the sensor for the speedo on it.If they both don't work it might be a fuse like king mushroom says it could be.They also need a ground to complete the curcuit, check the ground wire. Johnny
