04 cbr600rr fuel gauge stuck on full - expertise request :)
The rest of the LCD is working just fine, including fluctuating temp number right below the fuel gauge, so I'm thinking it's not the LCD itself? This was broke ever since roommate got the bike from some dude. The bike has a lot of LEDs wired on it so possibly the dude who wired screwed up somehow, but seems unlikely since wires are not related.
So I'm thinking fuel sensor is dead or has contact issues or something. Would u agree?
And if so, does 04 CBR600rr have the sensor in the same assembly as fuel pump or are they separate?
Thank you for all and any help!! I'm trying to fix this on roommate's bike as a gift for his b-day.

The "float" that tells the fuel level sensor how much fuel is in the tank may be stuck, take the fuel pump out and see if the float is pivoting freely.
Yes the fuel level sensor is attached to the fuel pump.
If the guy wired the bike that would screw up the fuel pump sensor to the gauges, you could see the fuel gauge go from empty to fuel over and over and over. Unplug the 2 prong black connector on the fuel pump and you'll see that message come up on the gauges.
