coolant system problem??
Hey there guys. I noticed the coolant in the expansion tank had crystalized at the bottom after noticing a little leak. i decided to flush the system as its a new bike (to me, its a 99)
After this i filled the radiator and expansion tank and run the engine and waited for it to take in the new coolant from the expansion tank. It didnt. I let it get up to 102c and it still didnt take it and no fan came on so i shut it off. i noticed on the bottom of the fan a little rubber boot, i dont know if this is supposed to have a wire going to it or not, see pic. i dont know why the system isnt taking in the new coolant as the system is empty surly? at least low! can anyone help, am i doing something wrong???

You fan connection looks just like mine on my 99, When you refill after a coolant change you need to do it at the radiator with the cap off. Then you can watch the coolant level drop in the radiator and the fill the overflow tank, My fan does not come on until about 217* farenheit or about 102.7 * C. Let it run a little longer before you tear into it for the thermostat and see if the fan actually comes on
