man guys 2 weeks ago i was out riding and a mustang wanted to race my 900rr HA rite so i was like man i dunno u might beat me and he laughed.. yeah me to lol but he actually did beat me but not cause the bike was slow cause i thought at the time my tranny went well finally yesterday i got to looking at the bike and decided to take the engine out of it (i have 2 extra motors for parts in good shape) and come to fine out when i bought this moroe everything was rebuilt but the cluch packs ( i didnt even have to take the motor out for this repair ahhh) but finding a broke pack in like 8 pecies i took the set out of another motor and now it drives but im still haveing the same problem as i was having be4 my old ones broke.

The bike drives fine but when i get on the gas the rpms jump but the bike doesnt go anywhere till i let off then drive slow gradually picking up speed.. These cluch packs i put in are almost brand new what cout be causeing this did i put them in wrong.. any ideas why it does this this bike want to be fast again but **** lol.... how tight should i tighten the spring/bolts? help is alway good lol thanks in advance

Oh its a 96 frame with a 93' motor the 93-95's were the better made motors less govnt crap keeping the performence down on these yearss then finally in 96' they said do something bout these engines ppl are hurting them selfs bad blahhh blahhh. so i got a 93..

Hi - I replaced my clutch 2 months ago - followed these instuctions exactly (with great pictures). It will answer all the questions you asked.

Just a FYI: that post is incomplete as the last half was deleted when the forums went down a couple of months ago.

It sounds like some of the steel plates are burnt. That would allow the fiber plates (that are driven by the motor) to just slide over them if to much power is sent through them.

And I've gone back and finished the clutch How To

oh thats what i was thinking and then i was told to take them all out again and do figure 8's on pavement with the steel plates cause this way it would make them packs catch better does that sound good to you?

so how tight are you supposed to crank down on these bolts/springs i didnt go to tight just a snugg on em' but then i wanted to see how easy i could get them off and there really wasnt a struggle like when i first took them off. should i try and make them real tight? Or will that keep the clutch from being able to engage?
