Problem with that, atleast for me, is that my bike isn't warm by the time the chokes falls in 30 seconds...so the rpm'sdrop to the point were its going to cut out. I have to stand there and hold it. It sucks but it is what it is. Funny thing is that I never did it before and now all of a sudden...

mine is the same but i thought it was normal. by the time it is down the bike is fine. better than my friends bike that just revvs like crazy after it is warm. sounds like he has the throttle pinned until he turns it off lol. give me a chance to lock the house and get a few things together until the bike is ready and i dont have to watch the idle.

Actually it is supposed to come down on its own so put grease in there so it doesnt rust and you are good to go

on my 99 900, there is a plastic piece under the little rubber cover at the base of the plunger. I just turn that righty tighty with a litttle pair of channel locks and that tightens the grip on the shaft. and i personally like a tight grip on my shaft

Default Coke adjustment

[QUOTE=sueto2;379358]on my 98, under the **** that you pull up is a rubber cap like thing that the rod goes through. if you turn that rubber cap it is threaded and the more you tighten it the more friction it applys to the rod making the **** stay up. that is how it works on my 98 im not sure if the older ones are like that or not. good luck, monsy.[/QUOTE
!!this worked on my 96 also! Thanks for the heads up
