I recently aquired a 98 900rr i have posted on here once or twice before, but my question is how hard is it to replace chain and sprockets? i have the clymer manual and i have looked at that it doesnt look to hard, but i am wondering from expierenced people if it is something i should tackle or not? wondering about how long it takes and any tips or suggestions.

Thanks-

I thought it was cakewalk if ya ask me. Rear sprocket is very simple, the front you might have to use your head. Tools I used : Impact and sockets for removal, chainbreaker, beer, and a torque wrench. It's pretty easy man, if your techincally inclined at all you should be able to do it w/in a couple 3 hours or so. Let me know if you run across any problems

+1.......do it. it's easy. Get a chain tool and you're set. A freind to hold the rear brake isn't a bad idea either so......loosen the front sprocket FIRST before you do anything.....put it all back on and tighten the front sprocket last.....easy.
