if this goes out how bad is this? would it give power loss? sound like a knocking noise???

Bad, the timing could potentially jump and can cause major damage to the engine. It can sound like a knocking noise yes. That is how my brothers 94 sounded then we replaced it with an APE tensioner and all is good now.

I had a tech tell me my tensioner was going bad, it turned out that it was a lose spark plug, and oviously i was also having power loss issues.

Bad a nd dirty carbs will cause the knocking sound also...but I have an extra CCT if you need it I put an APE on mine but the old one was good

Someone told me if the cct is bad the engine will sound like a bunch of crickets going beserk under the valve covers.

Or like an army of rabid squirrels[&o]
