Default 99 cbr 900 frame sliders (delrin from Hong Kong)

Ok. So I have been wanting this to be one of the first things I do to the bike. (Just bought it). I read that these are better than the steel ones (which are crazy priced and require cutting and drilling). The reasons why are:
- they will grind down in the event of a crash for one thing
- the steel ones are made of similar (if not the same) material as your frame. this makes the frame more prone to cracking or flipping/rolling .
- price!

Of course it depends on the crash .

What do you guys think? Where would they mount? They say they are for my 99. What do you guys think. I cant afford to spend the hundreds of dollar$ right now after buying the bike. But, i want to protect it. Thanks

Ok. so ill answer my own question. First of all, DUH! forgot to post the link. Second, I emailed them and they said fairing cutting is needed even though the ad says it doesnt need cutting.

Hi there.

I have similar frame sliders fitted on my bike by a guy I know here in Cape Town. Yes, the theory is that that slider grinds away in the event of a slide and the high tensile bolts are deigned to bend rather than snap. I have seen a few of his bikes post accident that were fitted with these and they do a very good job of saving the bodywork/engine casings. Also, you are able to have brackets fitted which prevent the need to drill through your fairings.

Here is a pic of mine.

And here is a pic of one of his kits, you can see the bracket which enables mounting around your fairing:

Oh, and they mount through where your engine mounting bolts go...
