95 CBR 900 RR Build
Thanks Hawk, i cant wait to RIDE the end product and turn some heads too ...lol . There are no REPSOL hondas were i live to my knowledge the only one around here is sitting on the showroom floor at my local honda dealership and says "NOT FOR SALE" on it and its a 600, so my bike should attract some attention on the streets..lol

Although most of the day was wasted away trying to figure out the signal light issue, i did manage to get one of the custom seat covers installed.

im still waiting for the other one

im still waiting for the other one
when i change my timing, i tried to see what the difference was and unfortunately found nothing distinguishable from the outside that stuck out.. except when i lined the old peice and new piece up. i could actually see that the new piece was a tad bit off, hence the four degrees..
Ambeos this is def a piece you can get last and install with very little effort.. but i will say def a worthy mod.. and in the end if it turns out that you already have a plus four degree rotor installed. i know someone who will take it off your hands for a reasonable price.
by the way, the i love the seat design.. its really starting to come together..
i have a quick question, have you ever worked with epoxy?? or fiberglass or carbon fiber?

the reason i asked about the epoxy, this is a picture of the same plastics mounted, from the outside looks fine, but after a few months all the inside tabs broke including all four of them around the headlight, even the rear plastics i have some trouble with.. all i have to say is they look new and are in fact new, but the chinese plastics are awful and if you have the time to reinforce the tabs i would take the time to do it..
if you look closely at the center bolt just below the third eye and you'll see a slight roll in the plastic below that bolt, im constantly adjusting the front headlight and have had to adjust the bulbs all the way down so the light levels to the ground..just an fyi/

JC: yes i have expereince with epoxy and fiberglass, i was one step ahead as far as that goes ive already re-enforced key spots in the plastic. The very moment one of the tabs broke on the headlight on me i decided that i would just make sure none of the rest did it to me again and re-enforced all the tabs, there really isnt that many to do , the headlight and a couple that mount to the sides. The rest are just indentions in the plastic and shouldnt break if proper bolts/washers are used. The main flaw i saw in this was that the fairing bolt kit i got, the heads of the bolts are small and therefore give no support to the fairing mount. I went out and got the correct size SS washers to give the support needed to have a secure attachment point on mine. I guess the true test of my precautions with the plastics will be when it starts to be driven and get jarred around, then we will see if stuff starts breaking ....lol. BTW your bike looks great! and that seat cover only cost me 17.00 the front one however cost 51.00
There is also stuff called Panel Bond thats stronger than epoxy that i get from my local collision/paint store but i was out of it, if what i did doesnt hold up i know the panel bond will that stuff doesnt break once cured you would have to cut it.

well im glad i brought it up..because i plan on reinforcing all my panels including thinking of make the tail into a one piece, if i can make to work, as you know it will be difficult to slide on and off as one piece but i think if i take off the back seat at the hinge it may slip right on and just make quick connects for the electrical and a few off and a few bolts back on and it all stays together.. anyway, def a fall project..
and ill have to look into "panel bond in the meantime..

At the moment im waiting for parts for the bike and last trip out with the atvs resulted in numerous things going wrong so i now have several atvs to fix im working on too in addition to the one you keep seeing in my pics that im putting a new engine in( it should be done torm). It never ends.
Just a parting thought since you got me thinking of the tail, the piece between the seat is big enough to run a piece of flat bar thru on the underside, not only would it give the tail stregnth to be one piece but would also serve as an anchor to make a new hinge that you wouldnt have to take on and off every time, just a thought

as always, i cant sleep, so ive been up working on atvs and the bike. call it obession i guess but i have to keep working until im just to tired to go anymore. I went back and cleaned up some of the wiring mess i made wiring up the new signal system made everything look nice and neat. I sprayed the fuel tank tonight, i wasnt going to i was going to spray during the day and let it cure outside but i set the garage thermostate to 80 and sprayed it. I didnt take any pics of the prep work because i think all of us here know what a sanded piece of metal looks like. The finished product looks pretty good but i may sand and buff it out just to get that extra depth to it.
JC i noticed that pic of the seat cover was blurry so i took a new one for ya, like i said they are only 17.00 and he has many other colors you can chose what panel is what color also i just got the black and orange. I just removed my old cover and stapled this one on its actually made for this seat so it was easy to do, here is the link to him on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-1993-1...c44f70&vxp=mtr

I took these pics literally right after i set down the paint gun so the clear was still leveling out. I have a vinyl plotter and have already measured and cut out the Honda wings in black to go on the tank just have to wait for it to cure i may even put them on then put a heavy coat of clear over the decals.
