Thanks Hawk,

I did manage to get some work done tonight i got the brakes bleed, rear brake switch re-adjusted and lubed up the new chain real good. No more pics yet because nothing has really changed in looks, its all been buttoning up stuff for ride.

I do have 2 concerns though:
1. after bleeding the brakes and getting a firm lever on the front the front wheel will not spin freely, i know some cars are like this with news brakes and take a few days to wear in but its creating quite a bit of drag on the front, Thoughts?

2. the header wrap has burned in on all but the #3 cylinder im not sure if the cylinder is just not getting hot enough or what but that worries me a little, although the bike run great i dont see how there could be a problem there the way the bike runs.

Out side of that im waiting for the flashers and get them and the seat cover for the front installed then it will be ridable, we have a show coming up on the 23rd not really a bike show but bikes are welcome so i think ill put it in if its finished and ridable see what people think of it.

BTW just to show how stupid and or careless people are with thier bikes sometimes, i finaly got my REPSOL racing oil in today so i changed the oil in the bike. I drained in all after the oil out of the filter 7 QUARTS of oil out of the bike. Now having already refered to the manual the Vinman gave me i knew that it was supposed to only have 3.8, this was so utterly stupid that i called the guy i bought it from:

Me: Is there a reason why this bike had 7 quarts of oil in it?
Seller: no clue when i changed the oil i just filled it up.
Me: filled it up as in the full mark on the dipstick?
Seller: Didnt know it had one i just filled it up were i could see the oil at the top.
Me: the top meaning were you unscrewed the dipstick?
Seller: i guess
Me: you realize that this bike only takes half of that amount and to put that much in will damage it.
Seller: i changed the oil right before i parked it to sell.
Me: (in utter amazment of this stupidity) ok thanks.

So, i did check the oil really well for metal and any other things it should have in it. There was nothing in the oil to suggest anything had been damaged to bad and considering how well the bike runs i doubt it done any real damage to it, but none the less i thought i would share that.....lol

so first problem is simple,
either the spacers are in wrong or and this is what probaly is, lossen everything up, then make sure wheel turns freely then tighten the four fork bolts first then tighten the main shaft bolt.
if you tighten that bolt first you will pinch the forks together..
do you understand what i mean??

the oil thing should be ok.. these bikes used to get over filled all the time being the favorite bike of guys who stunted and they would always over fill by a full quart, just to make sure the engine wasn't dry when up in the air, anyway with no real repercussions..
some people are just dumasses ,

hey this is a person favorite build i want you to check out.
98 Winter revamp :-))

P.S. its a HONDA man!! yourbike will run forever, even if you didnt take care of it!

that is a real shame that the bike was wrecked, alot of work put into it. I know how that feels to put work into something and then it get wrecked had several vehicles like that.

I need to muster up some energy and go get the front end setup working correctly on mine!!

JC: i checked out the spacers on the front they are correct i tried the bolt sequence you were talking about which worked fine but soon as i put the calipers back on it returned back to drag again, i guess it just the new brakes.

I pulled the bike out of the garage for the first time in months today so i could clean the bay up a little the orange is really bright in the sunlight.

i finaly got around to finishing the ATV that was in the bay with it so i got some breathing room in there now

Looks great in the natural light, orange looks nice.

Are the pistons moving freely in the callipers and retracting properly?

Yea, how bad are they dragging??
They really shouldn't,even with new pads.
What I would do is make sure the pistons are all the way in and then retighten everything.
I have to be honest, I'm Alittle concerened. .
If it wad the front end of your car, I wouldn't waste my breathe, but it's not..
I'd check them out again.
Unless you have already gone for a ride and they seem to have wore in,
I would put the bike back in the air and see if she rotates freely

ive been pretty busy so i havent rode it yet, but it drags bad tire doesnt even go a 1/4 of a turn before stoppping. Not sure whats going on, i had a hard time getting the calipers to go in to get the new pads on it but i know that the calipers worked fine before i changed the brakes because i rode the bike before i tore it down for the biuld. This only happened after i bleed the brakes out and im using DOT4 fluid so it shouldnt be hurting it, the fluid that was in it before was dirty looking so when i bleed the brakes i bleed out all of the old fluid to were everything is filled with the new synthetic fluid.

I havent had a chance to mess with it any last 2 days i did make sure all of the spacers were in the right places and nothing was really torqued down hard to prevent it from spinning. The rear brakes are great wheel spins fine just the front is having issues and the front lever feels good as far as the hardness goes for the brake pressure. all of the brake res. are filled to upper mark (full) so as of right now i dont have a clue as to whats wrong ill have to tear the front end apart again, the wheel spins great until you bolt the calipers back on so its def a problem with the front brakes system somewere and def something i did because it worked well before.
