hi there, i recently got my 99 900rr and have thought exactly the same thing as you, the bumps in the road certainly make the bike seem to almost go into a tank slapper. getting a steering damper im thinking should help, but having never riding a bike with one fitted how many of you have fitted one on your blade, did it help and what ones are you using? i dont mean to jack your thread cb2cbr, maybe this could help u 2.

I have to say I have a 1999CBR900RR and when I bought this it had a pirelli front tire on it. and I had no issues at all. Felt really safe. I have since put a new Metzler M3 on it and I have the same issue that you do. It just feels really loose compared to the pirelli. Pirelli did not have or make that size tire or I would have stayed with it.... Sorry no help really but changing the tire may help some... good luck oh I do love my bike and I am an old guy 42 and would not trade it for the world
