RE: 2nd gear help
Oh ok cool, no sweat.
Yeah I had trouble with mine too, freaking original Honda rectifiers are flimsy as paper, then another mechanic supplied with me with a Kawasaki ("spit spit") rectifier. Im not sure what model but in his description it is much more solid than the Honda ones, he says it will last forever as well. I have physically seen the difference beween them and the Kawasaki ("spit spit") rectifier is much more solid than the flimsy Honda one. So far I have not had one single problem with charging or overcharging to date.
I realize it may sound like treason, but hey, if it works then it works!!

I also had a problem like that. When I bought my bike the second gear felt a little notchy. On slow riding it was fine, but I only realized the problem once I started getting used to the power and started revving up to 9000rpm. When I raced the first gear up to about 6000rpm and shifted to second, sometimes she used to jump out of second (actually felt the lever hitting my shoe on the gear slip) into neutral, or there would be a notch and not even allow me to shift into second and leave me red faced revving her in neutral like a noob.
The mechanic told me it was my shifter/selector barrel and had it replaced. I have not had a single problem since then and her gearbox is smooth as silk.
Hope that helps.

RE: 2nd gear help
Hi there
The mechanic done it all as im clueless on the inner workings of a gearbox. Bike parts and maintenence are kinda expensive here in South Africa. The gearbox job cost me R4600, with the current Rand/Dollar exchange it would be around $610.
Im not sure if that is expensive in dollars but to the South African dude, it was quite a pretty penny.
