im goin to look at an 05 600rr tomorrow as a potential fixer upper. From the picture it looks to be in dire shape and has obviously been down but the owner says its mechanically sound and runs great it just needs all new plastics, a new headlight, and probably some other stuff. The only picture of it the bike is naked and the tail looks effed up. Id usually ignore bikes like this but according to him its got ohlins forks, galfer wave rotors, protech rearsets, full akra exhaust, power commander, elka suspension and under 7k miles. Its listed for 3000 and if i can get it for 2-2500 and everything checks out mechanically it could be a pretty solid deal. Those upgrades alone could probably be resold for at least 2000.

 

To me it would not be worth $3K. $2K seems like it could be a deal if all it needs is plastic, headlight and small misc. parts. If you need to put new forks, sub frame, engine, frame, swingarm, wheels, rotors, etc then I would walk away but that is just me.

 

yeah im gonna check it out to see and if the forks engine frame etc all seem fine and i can talk him under 3k it seems like it could be well worth it. even if it costs me like 3-4k down the road in total i still think thats good for an 05 with 7k miles.

 

Update?

Offer him 2 grand cash see if he bites if it actually has all those parts.

then... part it out!!

 

if you know how to turn a bolt then this is a killer deal. ill buy it if you dont
