Default Worth the money?

I ordered my Repsol fairings, and I also want to add a seat cowl. I found this one that comes painted black, which will match the bike, I think it looks good, but is it worth $135? It's on this page, at the bottom of the 'bodywork' section.

There is/was a member here on the F4/F4i section that got that same cowl.

Its a bit pricey but if its what you want, by all means - go for it.

Are there any other options? I don't want to do the split seat conversion, but I like the look of having the rear covered when I'm not riding 2-up. I thought about trying to make one with fiberglass or something too... which would be way cheaper.

Just an idea, you could have the seat recovered so that the rear part of the seat matches the bike. From a distance and at first glance, it would have the single seat look but have total 2up function.

Yes, there is the Targa Seat Cowl. Looks like the one in the pics in this thread...https://cbrforum.com/forum/parts-sal...at-cowl-91529/.

Demon makes a good suggestion w/ the seat cover idea as well.

I have seen the targa one, but they cost just as much. I would do the seat cover but I want the seat to stay black too, and the tail will also be black.

I'm probably in he minority here, but I find those targa style covers to be bulky and make the rear of the bike appear too big... Banana seats are banana seats and they look great as is... If you want the split seat look go for a split seat IMO.. Then again I rock a tail bag anyway so a seat cowl wouldn't work for me.l. In black it might not be as noticeable.. Who knows.. Just my 2 cents.. Grain of salt included..

I might just bag the back of the seat and see what I can do with fiberglass. I imagine once the Repsol kit is on your eye wont be drawn to the seat anyway.

Hmmm, which Repsol fairings did you buy? There is no black in the true Repsol paint, it's actually a very dark blue metallic flake so a black seat cowl will not match.

I shopped around forever and finally went with Auctmarts. The fairings are finished and in transit but I haven't seen them yet so I don't know what the colour will be. I will be bringing in a side panel to the paint shop to get the orange matched for the tank, and if the black is actually blue, I will get some of that too. But I still think I'm going to try to fab something myself.

Thanks for the heads up!
