I have been reading on the forums about change the spocket for more acceleration. I think i would go with 1 down in the front. I need to first find out how hard is it since i am removing my wheels for paint, second if any one has pics of doing it on an rr, third what brands do you guys recommend and last were do you guys get the products from. Please lead me into the right direction thanks

The RK set is a good one. I'm running the 520RK with vortex rear sprocket on a 1000RR with good results. I did a write up on converting to the 520 but the focker keeps disappearing. Lemme see if I can find it.

Here ya go 520 conversion Check your manual for 600RR details (torque and settings) -- procedure should be very similar.

Stay away from Vortex, I'v heard of too many sprockets shredding teeth and Renthal is a popular brand. I haven't changed my sprockets yet, but I hear getting the front speocket off the first time is quite a task!

A typical set up is a 520 conversion, going down 1 in front and up 2 in the back, I'm told the bike really perks up after that, but you'll need to recalibrate your speedometer also.

Let me know how it goes, I'll be doing this conversion during the slow season

I ran an aluminum vortex for 5K miles on a busa and had no problems. In my experience I've noticed that most chain/sprocket related problems are caused by owner neglect. Usually too tight with not enough cleaning. Well, except for EK chains. They suck donkey ***** no matter what ya do[:'(].

Renthal are soft as Donkey Crap, Stay away from them, especially if your partial to the odd Mono. had a mate who had one on an R1 only lasted 1500 miles correct chain adjustment to.

i talk to my friend today and he said if i want to just drop a tooth in the front i should just buy a front sprocket and maybe a chain down the line since my bike only has 600 miles on it. i think i might do the chain just because i will already be in that area. what do you guys like for brands for chain and sprocket thanks
