Wow that's a hell of a bargain. I need to look around for something like that. Thought about calling insurance companies in the area when it comes time...I dunno tho. Not sure I wanna get a bike someone may have died on either...not really superstitious but seems a bit disrespectful and more than a little odd.

Brand loyalty for the most part. I bought a 1985 VF500F Interceptor brand new and had nothing but decades of trouble free service from it. Early on, when the GSXR and Hurricane showed up, I did want one of those, but I stuck to the Interceptor.

The bug to ride again--I had taken a break for a few years--hit me and I immediately looked at what Honda was offering in a mid range class. I had an eye on the Liter Bike but given my time off didn't think it the wisest of choices. So, the CBR it was. Besides, I couldn't get the Interceptor to start and didn't feel like fiddling around with it.

I doubt there is a 'bad' bike in the mid range super sport class and while the CBR might be down on power and\or gadgetry, the thing is an absolute joy and pleasure to ride. Then again, I knew it would be without ever having ridden one before I got it.

I recently put it up for the winter, damn near brought it in the house

I got a CBR600 because its the only 600cc sportbike honda makes. If they made a 600cc v4 full sportbike I would have bought one of those instead.

I always fancied one from when they first appeared. I've had all shapes and sizes of bikes but always loved the look of the 600RR. It was a good price in the dealers so I bought it. Love it to bits.

I bought an '08 600RR because of two major reasons. At 5'9" and 160 lbs, the CBR was the only bike of the 600s I could comfortably flat foot, and second, the graffiti edition is just so sexy! (This was the 2nd bike I ever owned and the 2nd year of riding, so motorcycle pragmatism didn't really take effect.)

As a result, after riding 22,000 miles and 6 crashes later for the 2013 season, the cbr is beat the crap out of but the bike still runs, not very strong, but it still runs.

It was between the RR, R6 and 675R when I sold the F4i. I felt the RR was the overall best choice for me at the time.

Looks-wise, I ranked the R6 highest, RR second and 675R third. I've now come to prefer the RR's looks over the R6 in most respects.
Performance: The 675R was on top of my list but insurance would have been more expensive. Between the RR and R6, the RR has a more usable power band both on paper and according to my wrist.
Ergonomics: RR won here. Least aggressive riding position for the street. I also have a short inseam so the saddle height and width is nice although the seat cushion itself sucks.
Price: Pretty similar for all three in the generation I was looking at (~2006+). The RR seemed to be about $500 cheaper on average and I ended up buying an '07.
Reliability: Honda hands down.

Been through 2 seasons with the RR and very happy with my choice. I'd still like to try the Triumph one day.
