Default what kind of stand do I need?

So one of my forks is leaking pretty bad. I got another one on Ebay for cheap, and taking the old one off looks easy enough. I just can't see how I'll be able to keep the front end off the ground. All the front stands I've seen look like they hold the bike up by the bottom of the forks. If anyone has done this before, please help. Thanks.

You need the one that lifts up from the bottom of the steering stem, on the bottom of the lower triple. PitBull makes one and it works well. I'm sure there are others too.

Ya, steering stem stand. Make sure you remove the front fender before inserting the stand. Some of 'em don't have much clearance and you end up with a dinged up fender.

If you can't afford a stand you can always suspend the front of the bike from the rafters in your garage...no...seriously!

Before I got a stand that lifts by the front triple tree, I've done the rafter hanging thing may times. Also if you have a good set frame sliders installed to can used a couple of jack stands to support it.
