Default Urgent Question/s

Hi guys,

I am supposed to leave on that long trip of mine tomorrow morning but have some last minute snafus. First, the tail bag and saddle bags didn't come in on time to the store so I am stuck taking one of my hiking backpacks. I am going to bungee it to the back of the bike. Any suggestions on that or am I just over reacting, seems like it will be fine, but you never know.

Second, I am planning on wearing my leathers for the trip, however have no rain suit, how is the leather in the rain if that should happen or do I need to make it a point to get me a rain suit tomorrow morning and leave a bit later than planned?

Thanks

Do you got a wilson's leather store anywhere near ya. They sell leather waterproofing spray. Think it might take a few hours to soak in. If your leather is untreated then it might mess it up. Not sure on that though. As for the bungee cords i recommend going to walmart and getting a small cargo net. I got one with moveable hooks works good was like 10 bucks i think.

Just did a 500 mile trip and was in the same situation as yourself. Depending on how heavy your backpack is, you might just wear it. I wore mine because I didn't have time to go hunting for bungees and on the way back I wore it on my chest which made out to be a nice pillow. Obviously I didn't give a **** what I looked like.
Good luck!
