Got a 2005 that is having turn signal issues. I cleaned the connections on the toggle slide, seemed to help for a day before issues continued. When switching between left and right, the indicator light on the instrument panel will light up for a second before returning blank. Thing is the signal is still getting to my integrated helmet light will display the correct signal direction. I purchased a new OEM switch but sill having same issues. What’s next to start look for?

 

Show wiring-diagram how you have helmet-light is connected to bike.
Switch is just red-herring, and now you've got 2 different mods to troubleshoot.
Put original switch back in so we can remove new switch as possible problem
Then disconnect helmet light.

Does winkers work now?

Do you have multimeter and know how to use it to measure voltage, resistance and current?
This is 5-minute fix with mutlimeter.
