Default Blinker issues

Hey folks, help me out with this one:

On my 98, when I signal to make a right turn I have to really work the switch to get it it to come on. The problem seems to be somewhere in the switch. The actual signals (front and rear) come on just fine after about I try it a few times. I'll press the toggle and it will come on but not stay blinking unless I hold it over. It's very similar to a car when you signal halfway like lane changes. Occasionally it will come on a few seconds after I make the turn. Is there a couple relays that may need to looked at? My left signal works like a dream, one push and it comes on and cancels easily. The bike only has 10k on it but it sat for almost a year in a heated storage before I got it.

I was hestitant to rip into without having some clues because the weather here in ND can go from blizzard to ride days in 24 hours. The problem is nothing to stop me from riding, but it is really annoying,

I am traveling for work for about a week so I am kind of doing a noob style post because I won't be able to check back. Any help would be awesome. If it's something that requires pictures I'll be back on Thursday and can snap away. Thank you in advance.

The switch may just need the contacts cleaned, you can take them apart easy enough & squirt in some contact cleaner. if the other blinker was playing up, then its more likely something else.
