Tubro Question
I have a 2003 CBR 600rr motor that is in a 2003 Yamaha Raptor 660 chassis. I know its not a CBR motorcycle, but I thought this would be the best site for help. I want to put a turbo on this motor so I can have the baddest hybrid atv out there. The bike currently has the EFI removed and runs on 4 35mm F CR Keihin carbs, but I am going to put the EFI back on. (I just got this bike, I didnt set it up or anything so I dont know why the carbs are on instead of the EFI). Anyway, does anybody know who makes a good turbo kit for these motors? Is one brand better then the other? Any info or links you fellas could give me would be awesome... Here is a pic of the bike so you can see what I am working on, trying to make a nasty duner. Thanks in advance!
It is just like it was when I got it last weekend, only change is I painted it.

RE: Tubro Question
I don't think they make a turbo kit for the 600RR. You'll probably have to fabricate it.
Keep in mind that its "only" a 600cc engine, so you'll have to find an automotive turbo for a very small engine. Otherwise you'ii end up with an unridable beast with a very peaky power curve, and HORRIBLE turbo lag (think of the very early 1,000HP dyno queen Toyota Supras, when people qere just tuning for a peak number and did't give a rat's about streetability)
I believe the Joe Rocket "Rocket Nation" CBR 1000RR is turboed, check to see what they used on it.
The reason the builder didn't keep the fuel injection was probably simplicity. (the wiring for the sensors/ ECU would ahve been a royal pain, so putting a carb on it would be much simpler than doing a whole transplant of the electronics.

RE: Tubro Question
White I think you are right about the carbs and why they are on there. They do not make a kit for this, I looked into it. People have fabricated them, but they cost like 10 grand or more. You can check it out here...
