I've just picked up my new CBR600RR yesterday and trying to see where the tank range falls in typically. It looks to me that primarily highway driving in relatively conservative driving will achieve 200k in a stretch.

What are your experiences?

How far can you go once the fuel gauge starts flashing?

 

Well i'd say you'll probably average somewhere around 40mpg give or take.

The nice thing is they have a full time fuel gauge unlike the F4i. I think it starts blinking when you have .9 something gallons left so it gives you a good bit of time.

 

Mine starts flashing at 160 miles or so but I am mostly city riding.

 

I think when I picked it up the tank was full but not FULL.

When I refueled the first time it was fuller but not FULL. lol

So yesterday I topped it up right to the brim and the cost was more than the previous time so I think it's probably realistic to expect closer to 250k this time around. I hope anyways - it sucks being far away from everything and having to hope and pray for a gas station.

 

Wait, on the 07+ RR's, when the last indicator is showing, it then BLINKS when you have .9 miles left? I didn't know it blinks, I usually panic and fill when I ride ~10miles once the last indicator shows up.

 

Yeah it blinks. and how much or often or speed of the blink or something indicates how low it is.

Regardless whenever it gets down to 1 bar which I try not to do really I just go fill up. You still have plenty of gas left.

 

on mine when it starts flashing i have about .9 GALLONS left. Ive gone 30 miles with it flashing, thought thats not a really good idea.
usually get 180-200 miles on a tank if im easy on it. 150 if i ride like my normal self.

 

I get around 140 miles to the tank on my 07CBR600RR with mixed city/highway driving...
