Default tank pad help

just bought a 07RR and his tank pad plus the gas cap pad IMO looks cheesy. What is the easiest way to take it off without damaging the paint on the tank? Also will I see any discoloration from the old tank pad once it is removed?

Use a hair dryer, and warm the pads up until you can start to slowly peel it off. Make sure you keep applying heat to it as you are peeling it off. If you still have some adhesive left on the tank, there are a few different products you can use to get it off that won't be harsh on the paint. As far as if there will be an discoloring I couldn't tell you for sure. Depends on how long they have been on there, but being an 07 I would guess that there wouldn't be.

ya a hair dryer or a heat gun, just make sure you dont over heat it, especially if using the heat gun. they get crazy hot.i wouldnt think there would be much discolouration, unless the bikes been left out in the sun day in and day out, then it might be a bit faded????
