taking off tribals

Default taking off tribals

i need some help on taking off the tribals on a 05 600rr. Its my boys bike and we took of most of them allready
but the gastank decal has clear coat over it. would anyone know if you have to repaint the tank if you take the
decal off, or is there a way to do it without damaging the paint any help would be apriciated

I just did mine last week it took 2 hours a side with a heat gun and a plastic scraper. I also purchased a clear tank pad (grip) to cover 80% of it. It looks great and you can't even tell.

honestly the best way to do it is a heat gun, razor blade...and have the tank buffed...thats what i did on my bike...no need to repaint it cause "it buffs right out!"

so you didnt need to clearcoat the tank again just have it buffed? thanks for the help

you don't HAVE to clear it...but it is a good idea (i did it)

i took all my decals off ..thankfully none of them were clearcoated...i just pulled them off carefully then took some bug and tar remove to take of the remaining adhesive and bam! an all silver bike appeared...then i through on some of my on decals....

I got sticker and adhesive remover from the auto part store. Then, let it soaked, and it came right off. I only had to use a heat gun on a few hard parts. I didnt have full tribals though. It was just for the CBR, 600 and Honda logos

thanks for the help. we finished taking off all the tribals today but on the tank you can still see the outline of the tribals
does anyone know what materials i should be using to buff the tank,
