Default Starting problem

Hey guys recently one of my buddys layed down his 05 600rr with only damage to the fairings so he ordered a complete new kit before putting the new kit on the bike was running fine he rode with them off for 2 weeks waiting for the new kit to come in. Once we put the new kit on now when you go to start the bike when you hit the kill switch the fuel pump no longer comes on and the bike will not start any ideas what could cuase this? We didnt touch anything in the motor and only worked on the plastics we have checked every fuse and all the connections under the tank all the lights work fine and the gauge cluster seems to be working fine so we are really confused any help is appreciated.
