+1 to that . Im assuming this will be your first bike than as well? If so be sure to get yourself some gear and get a feel for the bike before you go out trying to see how "fast" it is. Speed doesnt matter to the reaper.

Good advice from the Blue Fox yet again...def take the MSF course and at least get a jacket. Be safe and learn to ride before trying to top it out...

Wave $5500 cash in his face and see if he takes it. Then you'll have $500 left for some gear. My boy just picked up an '06 RR with 999 miles on it very minty for 6 g's...and DON"T buy the R6. Honda is the bike to own.

Forget about it catching a 1000, unless my gram's is riding it.

Definately good advice, i couldn't agree with you guys more, i took the msf course last summer, and i have a leather riding jacket. But i got a harley helmet so i wanna take out like an extra 500 for the shoei helmet, but ill get by with the helmet till the tax rebate comes back. then ill get a team honda jacket and a mesh jacket. But yeah im scared of getting hit by cars as it is without going like a bat out of hell, so im gonna take it easy for a while, and ill save the speed for the highway.

Believe me I know what it is you're feeling. I found an 06 R6 raven blk with 2000 miles on it for 6250, and an 06 CBR600RR asking 6200. The CBR is definitely the better bike, better mid range and everything. You'll be glad you get the RR. Offer him 5500 and then you'll probably get it for 5800 which would be a steal
