safety course

RE: safety course
For a RidersEdge course through a large dealer here in Las Cruces, New Mexico, it was 275.00 (but it came with a dealer 75.00 gift certificate!!! LOL). Anyway, great course, highly recommend it, but a little expensive. I know that Harley Davidson dealers usually host the RidersEdge classes. You might want to look into it.

RE: safety course
well i think there is a difference between a course and road skills test. i just found out that i only need to take a 30min road skills test with my own motorcycle for 35 bucks!!!! i am so happy to here this, are alot of you riding with no endorsement?? if so have you ever been caught and what was the penalty?? thanks...

RE: safety course
I took mine in SE Virginia and it was $125.00. It included three 5 hour courses over the span of three days. The first day was a video and written test. If you passed the written test, which you would have had to be in a coma to fail, you can successfully complete the course with a skills test waiver if you pass the skills test. If you fail the written test, you can still attend the last two days of the course but you will not get a DMV waiver. Anyway, the last two days of the course were on a range and you practiced with 125cc motorcycle's and develop basic skills and get really good tips from professional drivers. No matter how much money the course is, I would reccommend you take it. It is definitely worth your time and money. Plus you get insurace discounts for taking it and that nice waiver so you only have to take the written test at the DMV to get your license. No more additional waiting time on scheduling a road test!!
Hope this helps

RE: safety course
From what I've heard (in Northern Virginia), the road course is near impossible...but down here in Blacksburg, VA, my buddy bought his 03 600RR and passed the course after only 3 weeks of riding, so I really dont see how it could be that difficult..but the MSF course really is more valuable than just to bypass the DMV's road course, it teaches you a lot that you might not have thought about.
