Just don't listen to classical...too many quiet spots in the songs, then it'll blast and scare the crap out of you when you don't expect it

For real...that happened to me...I was listening to the soundtrack from The Day After Tomorrow and I totally forgot I had music playing becausethe musicgotquiet for a long time, then did one of those big orchestral hits like classical does and I swerved and looked next to me, because I though it came from something else [&:]

Its also bad if you have some linkin park and you are not in a very good mood. I tend to get alittle to low and fast for my taste of riding!

Dont you guys hate it when your playing your PSP and the battery runs out while your riding. Thats wack!

I saw a dude last year, he had marine speaker housed inside the fairing and they were connected to his mp3 player. I dont know how much he can hear going passed 75mph but those things look hot.

Anyway, good number of people listen to music. Some even talk on the phone. To each his own.

Keep in mind its illegal in most states to operate a motorvehicle with headphones on. I seen cops pull over my friends just for having wires coming out of their helmet.

I ride with headphones on long trips frequently. Shure makes an E4C headphone that is noise cancelling and fits perfect in the ear under the helmet. I know in GA it is illegal... but I only use em on long trips. I must agree with others, it can be dangerous, but risk vs benefit.... I enjoy it. I do like the bluetooth speaker idea- that would be convenient

I do it sometimes on long rides. Does not make it any less safe for me. Sometimes I think it keeps you focused and in the mood, if ya know what i mean.

I was notified by an ex cop that works for us that it is indeed illegal to wear anykind of headphones while operating a motor vehicle be it car or motorcycle. I tried it a few times but its seems pointless once i get on the highway to get to/from work...
