REPLACING gRIPS
I know I have seen this topic in here before but after doing a search I can not find anything.
I just bought new hand grips and was wondering the best way to replace 'em. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for your help.

Either cut the old ones off with a razor blade or I've heard WD-40 works good to break up the glue that should be holding them on, clean the clip on off good before reinsertion of the new ones. Some people use adheasive, some dont. I've found it better to not as it takes for ever it seems to fully cure and the grip moves around. I've good luck with not using anything and just slipping them on with some soapy water.
I used WD40 to get the grips off, then hairspray to put the new ones on. Clean clip ons well before installing your new grips.
The hairspray helps them to slide on easily, then dries sticky to keep them put.

If you have an air compressor and a wand, you can "blow" them up and pull them off easy, also use it to put them on by adding a bit of adhesive, starting it on, then "blow" them up again and slide em on. Havnt tried it myself but ive heard from several people and watched it done on dirtbike grips. Not sure how much difference there is, but it *should* work. either way, just make sure they aren't coming off
hahahh
good luck,

The "wand" that Loki was talking about is the nozzle of the blower attachment tool for air compressors. Slip the nozzle of the air blower under the grip, between the handle. Depress the lever and the air will cause the grip to expand a little, bringing it away from the handle. While the air is applied, slide the grip down the handlebar until it's off. Reverse the process to reinstall. However, if you're using glue, then I certainly wouldn't use the air method to reinstall...it'll blow the glue all over the place. If you do use glue, clean the bar well with contact cleaner (don't get ANY on the body work). Spread a moderate amount of glue evenly on the handlebar (using latex gloves for this helps alot) and then slide the grip on while turning to spread the glue around the inside of the grip. Once fully on, wipe away all the excess that will seep out from the base of the grip. I have installed several handgrips and I have never used glue on streetbikes. I use alcohol. Pour a little in each grip and slosh it around a little then pour the excess out. Quickly spin the grip on the handlebar. The alcohol, like hairspray, will act as a lubricant while sliding on but will then dry quickly.
