Parking Lights...
Had an idea......Wanted to see if anyone has heard of or knows how to mod the bike so when you turn it on with the kickstand down, all lights are on EXCEPT for the headlights. Then when you put the kickstand up, the headlights will come on as usual.
This would be most helpful when warming the bike up. I feel bad when I let the bike warm up at night when my headlight is glaring into neighbors windows and such. I could also think of a dozen other places where it would be useful to have "parking lights" instead of having the headlight on all the time when the key is turned to the on position.......I think it makes perfect sense.
Seems like a good idea. But how the freak would you even do this? (Any Electrical Engineering majors out there?)

You could use the wiring on the side stand switch. Continuity (I assume negative) exist only when the side stand is up. So use this (if negative) continuity as the ground for your low beam headlight relay. There is a green plug just forward of the shaft where your shifter linkage connects to. Here are a couple of pictures to help:

Use a multimeter and verify that the continuity in your side stand wiring is a ground (negative) then tastefully run a wire from this connector up to your headlight relay and replace the ground (which ever Bl/R or Bu is negative on the headlight relay) with your new wire.
What's this doing? It's removing the factory ground for your low beam side and replacing it with a ground that only exists when your side stand is up.
Low beam only because you can turn your high beam off at the switch. You can do the same with the high beam side, but why would you need to?
