opperating temp
Hey whats up everyone I just had a question about the normal opperating temperature on a 2004 CBR 600rr is, Cause im getting alittle worried and i have the service manual. im a diesel technician so i know about machanics but this is just stumping me. so iv read the book and no where does it say anything about the normal opperating temperature, My bike runs fine it doesnt over heat but i just feel that its too high. It runs cool at around 183 degrees f. when im doing 60 and up but once i hit a stop light it climbs up to about 224-228 the fan kicks in but doesnt lower the temp it mearly holds it stable. Any comments or tip would be usefull.

RE: opperating temp
That sounds pretty normal, there are lots of other threads with people worried, but it seems that all our bikes do the same thing. I have an 06-600rr and it runs around 170-190 when I am moving any faster than 15 mph but as soon as I stop it climbs to 220 and the fans kick on. Once the fans kick on, if its stable, then it sounds normal and if the temp drops again when you start riding, thereshouldn't be any need for concern.

RE: opperating temp
i think its normal too. mine cools off from 222 within seconds after a take off from a stop light in heavy traffic. only problem with mineas i mentioned in another post, is that when the fan kicks in at 222ish it sometimes stalls when iaccelerate. runs perfect every other time. a bit annoying.
