I just bought oil and filter getting ready to do an oil change. Do you guys know how much oil i should put in my bike? the guy that worked at the bike store told me to look at the oil circle on the bottom right side and fill it up to the middle of the 2 lines. is that right? do you guys know about how many quarts?

 

Normally its listed in your manual, but incase you dont have one yes between the 2 lines is right WITH the bike standing up not over on the kickstand.

My 08 takes 3 qts

 

That is with no oil in the filter, make sure you start it up and let it run, or ride it for little and then come back and put more in it, because it will be lower than before with the filter filled up.

According to the manual after oil drain and filter change you should put in 3.1 qt (this is for 03-06. I dont know what the 07-09 specs are

 

i have a 04 600rr. 3.1 sounds right

 

Yea thats right. I think there is a great write up on here for oil changes where you dont have to take off the fairings, makes it a quick and easy job
