Default Newbie Exhaust Question

I am new to the site and just picked up an 07 CBR600rr and wanted to know if the 07 1000rr exhaust can be modded to fit the 600?

Thanks in advance!

First off ~ Welcome to the Site!!

Second ~ Why woud you want to do that? .. You wouldn't see any performance gains.

Ahh yes. Welcome to the forums. Make sure to post up in the new member thread.

As Crash said, Why would you want to fit the 1000RR exhaust to your 600?

maybe he means a 1000RR aftermarket exhaust? Many of them can be picked up cheaper than one for the new model 600RR.

It is my understanding that a slip on should fit fine, but no performance gains what so ever and depending on the slip on, you may need to jerry rig (or mod) a way to mount it. I was going to do the same thing because I found a chea 1000 slip on, but I ended up going with the correct aftermarket slip on...didnt want the headache

I agree, athough I dont know first hand, it seems plausible that an exhaust for a bike that has been the same for the last few years has cheaper after-market than one thats been out a little more than a year. The diameter of the pipe might be greater, which would lower the backpressure and cause a slight loss in top end. Again im not basing this on fact, but it seems correct. Also, the previous generation (03-06) 600 is much closer to the 07 1000 than the 07 600. I would look there first.

No it wont. That make the same exhaust for 1000s and they do for 600s (for the most part)

[sm=badidea.gif]You are asking for problems here...everybody has covered most of them. Maybe baxsom or knightslugger can chime in....but my guess is it would give yuou fits at every twist and turn. could be wrong on that....but I don't think so
