Default new 4way flashers?????

Wow, I just changed my rear turn signals to smaller chrome ones and after hard wiring to the left and right, everytime I press the signal switch they ALL activate. whether I click to the left or right I have permanent 4ways. I saw it kinda cool but I still dont have any regular signals. I guess its not that bad seeing as how in VA they are not required but still safety does strike an issue for me. WHAT IN THE WORLD DID I DO WRONG?????????????????

You probably hooked up your new signals to both the left and turn signal wires. Do you have a pic or description of how you spliced the wires?

I spliced the postive and negative wires of the old ones straight to the new ones. and when I did the left one first, I tested it before I connected the right one and they worked fine.

Are any of the left and right wires crossing/touching?

Any chance you can post up a picture of what your wiring looks like? Or at least draw some kinda diagram?

since no one else has any input I was thinking if I connected the front 2 it would work right.. possibly for some reason a change in voltage is making them all flash.... just a thought...
