you could try this as an easy fix which is what i did
soften the suspension a little so when you sit on the bike it lowers its self but dont adjust the rebound
the bike stays at the correct height while riding and lowers when sitting at the lights
works great for me

you should adjust preload to your weight...not to your height...
you shouldn't have problems after few thousand miles...and try to practice pushing your bike...

I'm not trying to start a monkey **** fight or meaning to disrespect anyone, but I have to ask this........
Did you not sit on the RR before you bought it? Again, not trying to be an ***, but lowering your bike, cutting seats and softening suspension shouldn't be a quick fix to a inconvinence like this. The RR was built for performance and handling, and that's what these bikes are praised for. Lowering and and un-professional tuning of the suspension to compensate for stop sign confidence can be a dangerous route to take. I would rather drop the bike at a stop sign than crash at 40mph around a corner because the rear tire lost traction due to poor suspension adjustments.
Blunt I know, but something that had to be said.

When the stakes are as high as they can be on a motorcycle, what's right for "YOU" should be the safest and most correct way to do something!

let me make this clear by softening the suspesion i dont mean lowering it. so when you sit on the bike and is stantionary the bike lowers itslf under the riders weight.
and it makes no difference while it's motion.
in the same sense a heavy rider could stiffen the suspension for the same reason
spiritbreaker just wants to feel safer while stationary
