Needing a plan going forward - building
Hey guys:
2006 RR here and wanting to map out the coming off-season and get some good work done on my ride. The only power extra I have right now is the slip-on Jardine RT1. Outside of that the ride is stock on power stuff.
What I want or looking for is a plan going forward. The goal is to get as much out of this as I can, going into the engine or whatever is totally cool and I'm ready. So what are the best next steps for me to take here? Also, no budget issues on this at all.
Side question: Would I gain any from the FULL Yoshi RS5 system over my Jardine slip?
Thanks in advance everyone!

Off-season???!!!! Don't speak of such horrible things!
Back to your question though, full exhaust vs. a slip on is minimal, nothing noticeable unless you are on a track and we are talking fractions of a second/lap.I have a full erion race exhaust and the only noticeable difference is a more throaty sound, which I am sure translates over to other brands vs. just a slip on.
And as far as engine/power mods, again we are talking fractions of a second even if you put thousands into the bike.
My 2 cents, you will get more out of learning to ride better vs spending thousands on power oriented mods.

@ Kaz: LOL, I understand man. I just don't care for the ride to the office @ 0600 with temps in the 20's, but that's just me.
I understand what you are saying of learning to ride better and I can always do better. This is just a fun "project" if you will and just having fun here, nothing more to it than that. Sometimes you just like to "build things", ya know?

There aren't many engine mods you can do without just rebuilding the engine. You can get full exhaust, a power commander, and that is basically the extent you can go with these machines without doing a rebuild.
I know what you mean about projects though, I like to always have at least one going on, most of which are cosmetic oriented.
This place is a great resource though, someone here may have a power related mod I am not thinking of.

If money is no object then look at this website https://www.slipstreamperformance.co...fccf3ca868a4aa. It has all the goodies you could want as long as your wallet is deep enough. The thing is these bikes are pretty much maxed out from the factory. There are some things you could do like full exhaust, race filter, gut airbox, power commander to increase power but it will not be all that much. The other thing you could look at is getting rid of some weight. Go with lighter wheels and rotors. In order do to all this is going to cost a good amount of money and a good amount of labor. If your just ride the street personally I say not worth it. If you're looking for more power save your coin and buy a 1000, just my thoughts.
@ Kaz: Thanks man, the full plus commander seems like a very logical next step. I have already done cosmetics early this year, but I always want to tinker with it and never consider it "finished".
@ R Dub: Thanks for the link, will definitely check it out later. I understand buying a 1000 but @ 5'6" 175 lbs I just feel better on the 600. Yea, street only but I just always have this mindset of wanting to do more at everything, it's compulsive but serves me well in professional endeavours.
