One of the main reasons for a GPS is for finding & exploring really cool unknown roads when out & about. Often the best set of twisties is off the beaten path, known only to a GPS coached rider.

The Garmin Zumo bike specific units mount up easily to any bike. They are 1 handable with gloves. They are water proof. They remove easily for theft protection & are lockable with code.

Also finding one's way to gas is important at times too depending on where you're riding.

Wish they were not so visible, but the benefits are pretty significant once you've ridden with one.

I just use my sprint instinct cell phone. Yeah I have to take it out every once in a while but it saved me from buying another GPS. And it works great.

After looking around a lot here and elsewhere, I think I'm gonna go for the Garmin Zumo 450. If it was my money, I'd be getting an Akrapovicslip-on (), but it's my GF's choiceand since she can get a car mount and use it too, it benefits the both of us. Damn compromises! Anyway, almost everything I've read about the Zumo is positive and since I will only be using it for longer rides, I don't have to worry about the ugliness of the mount sitting on my bike.
