Default My current Mods, Almost a How To (56K Warn)

Well, I've slowly tweaked the very few things that I didn't likeabout my '07.
Besides the Frame Sliders and the seat cowl (which I got as part of the purchase of the bike)
I had gotten a Bikelitez fender eliminator

But decided I didn't like the way the side plates looked on it.

Part of my goals were to make the mods fully reversible, and I absolutely didn't want to hack up the wiring, or the plastics of my new baby, so I bought a wrecked tail section off of E-Bay,

And this is what i decided to end up doing with it.

I used the metal mounting bracket from the Honda tail section, and some "L" brackets from the hardware store and came up with this.

Using the factory wires from the ebay tail I was able to splice evrything as a plug and play affair using factory connectors!!!
(I used a 9 volt battery to make sure I was wiring evrything right before putting the crimp connectors)

I decided to cover the side holes with some cheap LED stick on flushmounts to give it a "finished" look

Shrink wrap the rats nest of wiring, cover it with wire loom and...

Instant plug and play modified fender!! (I later added resistors to slow the blink rate)

This is how involved the installation ended up being. Pull plug... insert new plug. I love it

Test to make sure evrything lights... (oh,you can seemy "tank pad" in reality just a pinstripe vinyl sticker, but loooks better than any pad I've seen and protects from scratches just as much)

I then moved on to the front of the bike, Installing a set of Rizoma Zero turn signals.

These signals are absolutely gorgeous, and the Watsen design running light module gave me my running light functionality, included resistors to maintain the normal blink rate, and had factory style connectors so I didn't have to hack up any wires!!!

I had to remove the fairing to remove the factory signal lights first, and put the Rizomas in place before wiring the module. (it didn't fit through the adapter nut the Rizomas use to attach to the fairing)

Rizoma Zero's are bad *** aren't they? Great f**king turn signals. Have you seen the FE kit Rizoma makes for the 07/08 600RR's? Pure art.

Did you use the Watsen Design running light modules? Or did you find some somewhere else?

Might I ask where you got the front turn signals?

The guy I bought my bike from had installed some flush mount LED turn signals which are great for everyone except for someone in front of me and I've been looking for some alternatives.

The Watsen Design module http://www.watsendesign.com/Well worth the $15 I paid for it (at $30 they would still have been a brgain) They don't announce the module as a standalone product, just as an option to add to their flushmounts (which are very nice BTW) but if you call them they will sell it by itself.

The Rizomas I got from PJ's parts http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=59_50Not cheap at $37 each, but well worth the price.

The light pod for the aux brake light I got on E-Bay for about $3 shipped, haven't had it for too long, but it seems to be holding together real well. I don't expect to have any problems withit melting, sinceit is small, and it doesn't touch the heat shield. I have put my hand in there after a ride, and unless you're actually touching the metal shield, it doesn't seem to transfer too much heat to the plastic on the tail.

I went online looking for those rear turn signals. couldn't find them. What are they called and where did you get them?

The rear turn signal "pods" on the side of the bracket are some "no name" flushmounts I got on E-Bay for $20 shipped I just searched "LED flushmount turnsignals" until I found a set that I liked how they looked. These particular ones were advertised as being for a 1000RR
