Default Lowering a 2005 600rr

I did a bunch of searching and only found dead links.

My buddy needs to lower his 2005 600rr. What lowering kit should he get? I see 2 different styles on ebay...the $60 style and the $140 style. I see a Vortex lowering link on Naarden. Which is the best kind to get? In this case, do you "get what you pay for?" Any advise on this is appreciated.

he's shorter...like 5'8". He can double tip toe the ground, but since this is his first bike, he wants to be able to flatfoot the ground.
