just bought an 07 CBR 600RR
No disrespect dude, but I hate when people list "I rode a dirtbike since I was X" as a credential for being able to properly ridea streetbike. It's like saying "Hey guys, I just started playing guitar, but I'm gonna be shreddin' in no time because I played guitar hero for 4 years now." It's not the same, and the only thing that's really gonna transfer over is how you shift the bike. Apples and oranges my friend...street bikes accelerate, handle, turn, and stop much differently, and then you have the element of traffic and roads to worry about. Take it slow and be safe.
^^ agreed, dirtbikes and streetbikes are completely diff, just take your time and dont push it, Respect what it can do and im sure you'll be alright as long as you dont drive like a douche...
P.s. congrats on all the highschool *** you'll pick up on that thing. lol.

I am not sure about an RR but I do know my freind's little brother that just got out of high school got in a wreck a few weeks ago this is what happened
Before

this is him

I know when you are younger. You always think it can never happen to you. But two of my friend's in the past two months have both been in serious bike accidents and one of them has been riding motocross bikes and atvs all his life. So never think it could NEVEr happen to you. Because everything is a lot closer to home then you think
take it easy and stay safe

all i was saying was that im not new to a bike with a motor.
and, like i said, ive been on a harley since dec 20th of last year, so i do know how the road is different from offroad.
i rode the harley almost every day since dec 20th.
but, i also get how a 600rr is nothing like a sportster 1200 in the handling and speed department.
so, i do agree with you on the thing about offroad experience not applying to street, but i do have a good bit of road experience, just not on a sportbike yet.
and thanks for the headsup, hope to se you guys around the forum.
btw, im going to bikeweek next wed for 4 days, has anyone been to daytona bike week?
last year it was a lot of fun.
lol thanks i wont
i reallllly think a lot of you guys underestimate the level of mentality that some 16 yr olds have.
nothin personal, buttt i was stoked about gettin the bike, and so far all ive herd is **** about people crashing, and, dont die.
its cool though i get where you guys are coming from.
however, can anyone tell me what a power commander is?

A power commander is a piggy back fuel management system. Its plug and play and helps optimize your fuel map for better performance.
Well, not too many lucky guys get bikes when they are 16. But then again when i was 16-17 i had a bunch of turbo cars. But then again. At the same time everyone was still telling me not to kill myself. Just be safe. because Just because you think it wont happen to you doesn't mean it wont
