so i cant lock my forks at all. did it once and couldnt get it unlocked after tryin like 20 mins finally got it unlocked thank god. so my question is how do i get that fixd is it something with the forks or the key cylinder or what?

 

you mean lock them like, after you turn your bike off and you dont want it stollen ? push your key in and turn it then it should pop back out when its all the way locked, your handle bars have to be completely (yes all the way completely) turned to the left. you are prop not pushing the key in, if you dont it seems like its stuck or something.... if not jiggle it around a little. other than that i have never heard of a lock not working so sorry no ifo

 

Turn all the way left or right, push down key and turn all the way left.

I had this happen to my 05 600RR for about a month, it was so hard to get the steering locked, but then when i got it locked it was a pain to get it unlocked, but after about a month or so trying to look the steering it started to work fine, so out of the 40 months ive had my bike ive only had this problem for about 1 month, which was last year, so idk what cause it to do that, sorry, just wait it out

 

i think its seriously you just thinking your doing it right and not pushing it in all the way. sometimes im like, wtf why arent you locking? then i do it and feel dumb

 

well i am turning it all the way to the left if i went any further i feel it would snap off haha n i push the key in and turn it just doesnt turn at all (turn key to lock) so jus try going a lil further next time and lift up on the forks a bit?

 

i guess... idk man i have never heard of having that much trouble before. put the key in.. it should be at a resting point.. you can turn it on or off.. then push it in farther and turn to the left.. if it doesnt turn with the extended "push in" then maybe you just have to break it in?? or its broken.. not sure

 

ya like i push it down as far as i can than try to turn the key left to lock the forks (while the forks are all the way to the left of course) and it wont budge...i thought it was cus my key was a lil bent so got it replaced bout 2 months ago and no dice on it

 

uh. i would say try to move your bars a little left and right while pushing in and attempting to turn the key and see if it "wiggles" in. idk other than that

 

try to snap the key off in the ignition. If it snaps, you have a problem...
