Someone threaded earlier... have someone take you out on a dirt bike first, then take the MSF course... best advice! CBRs are excellent bikes, the best i think, but take that knowledge with caution.. there is a reason it made bike of the year for 07, its extremely fast, responsive, maneuverable, etc... everything you want it to be, as long as you know how to control it. CBR6 strongly recommended, as is proper riding skill. Also, do yourself a favor and dont skimp on gear... you fall once youll regret it forever.

I had a jeep, I have a '01 zx6r and a '07 CBR600. There isno way to compare a superbike and a four wheel drive jeepbesides the fact that they both have a clutch which will make it slightly easier to learn to ride in your MSF course.
My son (15) fell in love with my Ninja so I got him a dirtbike to ride now. We agree that the MSF course will come when he gets his driving permit, then the '08 Ninga 250. Kawasaki is awesome for making the 250 a "cool ride" he really likes the looks. Take a look at them they are pretty sweet looking. Buy one and ride it for 6mths then get you that 600! If you can keep it clean I imagine the resell on them will be fantastic.
