Default Jardine RT-1!!!

Put in on last night and wow!!! love the sound and looks great. Ihave a question about the heat shield. Does anyone run without one and is it too hot or cause any damage? Is there a nice aftermarket one to put on? Basically i think the stock one is cheesy and don't want to put it back on. Thanks.

I took the heat shield off with the stock pipe still on. I have had no problems? If you have a carbon fiber canister, thats even better!

i just put a titanium RT-1 on 3 weeks ago with no shielding and i havent seen any problem with it, i think it just sits to low on the bike to be a problem, also the titanium doesnt get as hot as the aluminum might, i dont know what you have

It's polished aluminum. My only concern is the brake line hose that runs along side the exhuast. I think I'm just gonna make a small shield to protect the hose. Man do i love the exhuast! For the money, i don't think there's anything better.

This link will take you to exhaust clips. It sounds exactly the same at idle and pretty close to the rest. I must say it's a little ear blistering at 7000 rpms. So i try not to cruz around that area. Blipping the trottle is the best!
