Default injectors?

On the bike I rebuilt, the airbox and both sets all the injectors have different part numbers ( bike is 03, new stuff is 05 ) Im curious if anyone knows the difference in the injectors, if any. The ecu/fmu is 03. Bike runs great, but i want to know if I should install the 03 injectors for any reason OR if buying the 05 computers would be an upgrade at all. Thanks in advance!

Default RE: injectors?

well I found a dealership with the answers finally! the 03 has either a lesser number of holes in the nozzle ( dont remember off hand 2, 4, 6 maybe? ) anyways, the 05 has has 12, which obviously is for better fuel atomization, so this is somewhat of an upgrade, might run a little rich on hotter days or higher up, but for now, we should be okay. Probably do some type of fmu upgrade shortly though...

i would stick with the stock injectors. unless you get it done right, getting anfmu upgrade will cause more problems than you want. fouled plugs suck!

Default RE: injectors?

The person I spoke with at the dealer said the plugs should be just fine with the extra fuel ( rr owner/rider, nut ) , but I just wont see as much as a gain as I could with out updating the computer as well. I think I am going to go ahead and try it for a few days and depending on how it feels, maybe do a plug check and swap injectors and go ride for a few more days, unless somebody has first hand experience with this and says its a bad idea.
